NADER AND GONZALEZ WILL HOLD A JOINT NEWS CONFERENCE IN AUSTIN, TEXAS, MONDAY, JULY 28

Independent Presidential Candidate Ralph Nader and his vice presidential running mate, Matt Gonzalez, will hold a joint news conference at City Hall, 1st Floor, News Conference Room #1034, 301 West 2nd St., Austin, Texas 78701, on Mon., July 28 at 11:30 a.m.

Texas is an example of excessive corporate power usurping the power of the people. Examples include NAFTA-inspired boondoggles like the Trans-Texas Corridor, and corporate-friendly "reforms" in the state legal system that undermines citizens' right to use the courts to seek justice. Mr. Nader and Mr. Gonzalez will propose solutions that shift power over government back to the people.

Update on Sunday, July 27 Press Conference and Campaign Rally
A press conference Sunday, July 27 at 7 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church prior to a campaign rally--announced in a news release July 21--will take place, but it will be brief. The rally is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Mr.Nader and Vice Presidential running mate Matt Gonzalez will speak at the press conference and rally. Musical guests: Daniel Cioper and Public Offenders. The rally will be held at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 600 East 50th St. Austin, Texas 78751, suggested contribution: $10 / $5 student.

About Matt Gonzalez
Matt Gonzalez was elected to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in 2000 representing San Francisco's fifth council district. From 2003 to 2005 he served as Board of Supervisors President. A former public defender, Mr. Gonzalez is managing partner of Gonzalez & Leigh, a 7-attorney practice in San Francisco that represents individuals and organizations in mediation, arbitration, and administrative proceedings before state and federal regulatory bodies. Mr. Gonzalez graduated from Columbia University and received a JD from Stanford Law School. Mr. Gonzalez was born in McAllen, Texas in 1965.
